North Carolina, United States – A 13-year-old teenager suspected of two murders that had escaped from the court was handed over to the authorities by his family.
Media reports on Thursday reported that the teenager's mother, Nikki Jacobs, delivered him to the Federal Marshals Service on Wednesday night in Lumberton, North Carolina. The teenager had escaped from the Juvenile Court around noon on Tuesday.
WRAL-TV reported that Jacobs said his son spent Tuesday and Wednesday in his grandmother's old house, which is abandoned. Then he found a bicycle and went to his uncle's house.RELATED
The teenager's uncle, Wayne Lambert, says he allowed the boy to shower and eat before calling the authorities.
The teenager and a 19-year-old Derrick Deshawn Hunt are charged with two counts of premeditated murder in the case of the deaths of two brothers found in a house last month.
