Washington – Three prominent members of the White House task force on the coronavirus – including federal epidemiologist Anthony Fauci – have decided to isolate themselves for 14 days after being in contact with a person who works at the White House who tested positive for the coronavirus.
Fauci told CNN tonight that he will be in “modified isolation” to avoid contacts with other people.
It was previously reported that the director of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Robert Redfield, and the head of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Stephen Hann, had decided to quarantine.

It has not been stated who those three members of the White House task force on the coronavirus were in contact with, but it is presumed to be Vice President Michael Pence’s press secretary, Katie Miller.
The White House confirmed Friday that Miller, although he does not have symptoms of the coronavirus, tested positive for the virus on Friday.
On Wednesday, a personal assistant to President Donald Trump – a military man assigned to service duties – tested positive for the coronavirus. Trump said he had had limited contact with his aide.
Since then, Trump, Vice President Pence, other officials and visitors have been tested daily at the White House for the virus.
Coronavirus cases in the White House occur at a time when most governors in the United States, without having reflected a 14-day reduction in coronavirus cases in their jurisdictions, slightly reopen their economies and try to go in search of a new normal.
Coronavirus cases in the United States are already more than 1.3 million. Deaths exceed 78,700.
