Anthony Hopkins Puts His Incredible Malibu Mansion On Sale

The veteran actor would ask for more than $ 11 million for the property he acquired in 2001 and for which he then paid less than 4 million.

The actor Anthony Hopkins, 82, decided to sell the mansion in which he has lived almost two decades in Malibu in order to move to a house closer to downtown Los Angeles, as revealed a few days ago by the news channel Fox business after contacting sources around the actor.

The protagonist of films like ‘The silence of the inocents‘, originally from the Welsh town of Port Talbot, would have set the price of his property at 11.5 million dollars, a very significant increase in relation to the 3.8 million he paid in 2001 for the property.

According to the same means, the house was built in 1958 and, after several major reforms, now has a heated pool, a spa and even large terraces that offer unbeatable views of the Pacific Ocean. Interestingly, the property was one of the few in the area that suffered no serious damage during the fires of 2018.

The Hollywood actor established his residence in the United States during the nineties and, precisely, as a result of the growing popularity he began to enjoy. Several decades earlier, however, the then aspiring theater star had nothing easy when it came to acclimatizing to a city as big as London.

“It took me a lot to gain discipline in those first years I spent in the National Theater of London. I had a very Welsh temper and it was generally difficult for me to integrate into any social circle. I knew there was talent within me, but I lacked determination and ability to sacrifice in many ways, “Anthony Hopkins said in a recent interview.
