BARCELONA (AP) – Barcelona forward Ansu Fati will be out of the pitch for four months after undergoing knee surgery on Monday, the Spanish club announced.
“Ansu Fati has been successfully operated on Monday for the injury to the internal meniscus of the left knee,” the Catalan team reported in a statement.
Fati, 18, suffered the injury in Barcelona’s 5-2 win over Real Betis in a Spanish League match on Saturday. He was substituted at half time after failing to recover from a tackle by Algerian side Aissa Mandi inside the area.
This season, Barsa highlighted, “the young Barça forward has accumulated 10 games: 7 in the League and 3 in the Champions League. In total Ansu has played 596 minutes this season, in which he has managed to score five goals and distribute two assists ”.
The teenager had been ruled out beforehand by the Spanish team due to injury.
