"Thank you for making this campaign possible and for continuing to believe that we can turn this moment of great danger into a moment of great promise for the United States and the world," he continued.

O'Rourke ran for president after losing his attempt to expel the Republican Senator from Texas, Ted Cruz, in 2018. In that race for the Senate, he was better than any Democrat in Texas for decades, leading a campaign that strengthened to the party across the country.
But O'Rourke had difficulty bringing that energy to a career in the White House in front of more than 20 Democratic candidates.
