The Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV) fell on Monday to a lower global appetite for risk after comments by US President Donald Trump, which damaged expectations of a trade pact between Beijing and Washington.RELATED
Trump said Saturday that trade negotiations with China were going on "pretty well" but that the Un ited States would only accept a deal with Beijing if it is suitable for the country's interests.
The benchmark S & P / BMV IPC index, made up of the shares of the 35 most liquid firms in the market, lost 0.22 percent to 43,605.12 points, at 9.15 local time.
The titles of the media company Televisa led the decline, with 2.56 percent less at 43.05 pesos, followed by those of the Cemex miner, which remained 1.10 percent at 7.21 pesos.
