British Prime Minister Shuffles Early Elections

LONDON (AP) – Br itish Prime Minister Boris Johnson seemed to press on Wednesday to hold early elections, after Parliament blocked his fast track to approve the Brexit plan before the planned date of departure from the European Union, the 31 October.

Legislators on Tuesday backed the bulk of Johnson's divorce agreement, but rejected their plans to allow just three days of debate before the final vote on the text, claiming it did not give enough time to review the document.

The government now awaits an EU response on a possible extension in the Brexit deadline.
