Buttigieg Withdraws From The Presidential Race

Washington – Former Mayor of South Bend (Indiana) Peter Buttigieg withdraws from the race for the Democratic presidential candidacy.

Buttigieg will make the formal announcement tonight, according to his election committee sources.

Buttigieg, 38, had a meteoric rise in this contest.

He won more delegates than anyone in Iowa, but has not been able to take off again in the campaign, which is currently led by Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, closely followed by former Vice President Joseph Biden.

He previously aspired unsuccessfully to chair the US Democratic Party.
