Clippers Beat Thunder 108-101

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Kawhi Leonard scored 34 points as the Los Angeles Clippers beat Oklahoma City 108-101 on Sunday for their seventh straight and second straight win against the Thunder.

Serge Ibaka added 17 units. The Clippers are 13-4, the best in the NBA along with the Lakers. Leonard’s total was one of his best performance of the year, and he joined him with nine rebounds and eight assists. On Friday he scored 31 points in Los Angeles’ 14-point win over the Thunder.


Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder with 23 points against his former team and George Hill added 22. Oklahoma City has succumbed in three straight games and five of six.

When the Thunder trailed by 17 points in the fourth quarter, Hill hit three straight triples. Reggie Jackson fumbled for the Clippers and Luguentz Dort sent a pass to Gilgeous-Alexander for a dunk that ended an 11-point streak and cut the deficit to 102-96.

Then Leonard dunked to stop the Thunder’s streak. Gilgeous-Alexander dribbled the ball in the paint and scored, bringing Oklahoma City back to within six points. Then the Thunder were forced to foul in the final seconds, and Jackson made four of six free throws to end the game.
