Clippers Defeat Heat 128-111 After a Great Last Quarter

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Paul George and Landry Shamet each scored 23 points each to lead eight Clippers players with double digits, and Los Angeles defeated the Miami Heat Wednesday by 128-111, in their third straight victory.

Shamet broke his season record in points and scored 14 after leaving the bench in the last quarter, chaining 10 straight points for Los Angeles. Kawhi Leonard added 14 points, nine assists and seven rebounds for the Clippers, who lost 12 in the first half before taking control of the game in the last two quarters.

Shamet was not the only one of the locals to refine the aim in the last quarter. JaMychal Green scored three triples, the last of which extended the lead to 107-92.


Derrick Hones Jr. led six Heat players with 10 points or more and finished with nine rebounds and 25 points, a personal record. Bam Adebayo had 22 points and 11 rebounds. The two combined to score all but six of Miami’s 31 points in the last period.
