COVID-19 Infections Decrease In The United States, According To Johns Hopkins Data

ATLANTA- Coronavirus cases are declining in the Un ited States, following a severe rebound over the winter.

The seven-day average for new cases of the disease fell below 100,000 on Friday for the first time since Nov. 4, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. Even on Saturday it remained below that level.

The seven-day average number of cases far exceeded 200,000 for much of December and was close to 250,000 in January, evidence that the pandemic has returned with fury after having been attenuated in some locations over the summer.
