Cowboys Again Lead The NFL As The Most Valuable Franchise

According to Sportico, Dallas is the most expensive team in all of sports, beating the New York Yankees by $630 million.

Jerry Jones has said that he would never sell to the Dallas Cowboys. If he ever changes his mind, Sportico has valued the team at $7.64 billion, making it the most valuable sports franchise in all of sports.

According to Sportico, the Cowboys have a $630 million lead over second place MLB’s New York Yankees.


Sportico’s calculations are derived from interviews with more than 30 bankers, lawyers, team executives, owners and consultants, as well as public documents related to the sport. The average NFL franchise is worth $4.1 billion, an 18 percent increase from last year.

The Denver Broncos were sold to the Walton-Penner family ownership group for $4.65 billion, according to sources. The sale is expected to be approved at the next owners’ meeting. The price is a new record paid for an American sports franchise.

In total, sixteen NFL franchises have been valued at at least $4 billion, compared to seven in the other US sports leagues, including four in the NBA and three in the Major Leagues.

The total value of NFL franchises, which includes team-related businesses and real estate held by owners, is $132 billion, according to Sportico.

The Cowboys, Los Angeles Rams and New England Patriots have real estate developments and other businesses that made them the three most valuable teams in the NFL. The Cowboys founded the Legends company with the Yankees and have partnered with several NFL teams. This offseason they became the first NFL team to strike a sponsorship deal with a cryptocurrency company,

The 10 highest-valued NFL franchises are the Cowboys ($7.64 billion), Rams ($5.91 billion), Patriots ($5.88 billion), New York Giants ($5.73 billion), San Francisco 49ers ($5.18 billion), Chicago Bears ($5 billion), New York Jets ($4.8 billion), Washington Commanders ($4.78 billion), Philadelphia Eagles ($4.7 billion), and Broncos ($4.65 billion).

The Cincinnati Bengals, who made it to the Super Bowl last season, are the lowest-value franchise in the league at $2.84 billion.
