Buenos Aires, Oct. 15 (EFE) .- Argentine President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, a vice presidential candidate for the Frente de Todos, again qualified Tuesday as "machirulo" to the president and candidate for reelection, Mauricio Macri, one year after referring to him in those same terms.
In an interview with the Buenos Aires radio station of Pergamino, the current president attacked the previous Kirchner government (2007-2015) and compared his management in economic policy with that of a woman with a credit card.
"Populism mortgages you the future so that you live a present, and when it ends, it ends. It is like giving up the administration of your house to your wife, and your wife, instead of paying the bills, use the card and One day they come to mortgage your house, "said Macri.
RELATEDCristina Fernández referred to these same statements in her official Twitter account: "Did you see?! I told them it was a machirulo," the Peronist president said.
The ex-president already called Macri "machirulo" in the past, specifically in May 2018, after Macri asked Peronism not to get carried away by the "crazy" of the senator also for Buenos Aires.
"Treat a woman crazy. Typical of machirulo," then wrote the widow of former President Nestor Kirchner (2003-2007) on the same social network.
The former head of the Argentine State reappeared on Monday in the campaign for the elections on October 27 and attacked the "neoliberal" model of Macri.
In his opinion, the Argentine economy entered into crisis because of the application of neoliberal policies and not because of the "impericia" of the president.
"Now it turns out that all hit the doll on the floor. I think it was the policies that were applied, beyond which it is true that there is not one of the most sprinkles (awake) to govern. It will not be a spark, but the problem is not that, "he said.
"It is not the 'sparkle' flaw, but the application of these policies. I say it with respect. I am not insulting or anything," he added.
Also, Macri blamed during the interview with the previous Kirchner government of "squandering the reserves of the Central Bank, savings and oil and gas reserves" of Argentina, adding that the current economic "uncertainty" is due to the possible triumph of the Peronist candidate Alberto Fernández, former classmate's partner and favorite in the polls.
"If the candidate (Alberto Fernández) recognized before Kirchnerism destroyed the economy, they closed it and left without reservations; if a few months ago the candidate recognized that, it means that returning to that path will bury us, it will move us away from the place where we want to go, "Macri insisted.
The current president avoided referring to the recent report of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), whose forecasts suggest that the Argentine economy will contract 3.1% in 2019 and 1.3% in 2020.
In any case, Macri explained that his Government is doing "build the foundations on which we will grow 20 years" and urged "to continue working together" despite "the difficulties". EFE
