Detained Suspected Of Three Murders In Houston

Houston, Texas – An individual suspected of shooting three men to death in less than an hour in different locations in Houston was captured early Thursday after a chase, police said.

Joshua Kelsey, 35, was arrested at about 4:00 a.m. and was driving a stolen vehicle from the site of the first murder Wednesday night, Houston police said on Twitter.

The events – apparently – were linked to the sale of drugs, said Deputy Police Chief Troy Finner. Authorities consider Kelsey a suspect in the crimes, but no charges had been filed Thursday morning.

UPDATE # 2: Following a short vehicle pursuit on the southeast side of the city, Kelsey was taken into custody about 4 am while driving the stolen Kia. Kelsey is now being questioned by homicide detectives. We’ll provide further updates as info becomes available. #hounews

“Kelsey is now being questioned by detectives from the homicide department,” the message said on Twitter.

The first incident, in which one man died and another person was injured, occurred at 8:15 p.m., Finner said. He added that the assailant subsequently broke into a house and shot and killed a 60-year-old man. So he drove to another home around 9 p.m. and shot another man to death, he added.

The identities of the victims and other details of the events were not immediately released.
