Donald Trump Announces Death Of Islamic State Leader In Syria

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, announced that the leader of the Islamic State, Al Baghdadi, died in a US military operation in northwestern Syria.


"Abu Bakr Al Bagdadi is dead," the president said in a statement to the nation from the White House.

According to Trump, Al Bagdadi committed suicide with a belt of explosives at the end of a tunnel, after being persecuted during the action of the American commandos.

"Last night the United States did justice with the world's number one terrorist. He died like a dog, like a coward," the president said.

After making the information known, the president said that "a large number" of Baghdadi supporters died in the US military operation and thanked the support of "Russia, Turkey, Syria and Iraq."
