Donald Trump Approves Political Trial | International

The House of Representatives, of Democratic majority, approved on Thursday a resolution that formalizes the process to open a political trial to US President Donald Trump, allowing public hearings and giving more power to Republicans in the investigation against the mandatary.

By 232 votes in favor and 196 against, the Lower House took forward a text that marks a road map, although not a calendar, to continue with an investigation that until now has been developed behind closed doors and under rules set by the majority democrat.

After hearing the decision, the US president wrote in his Twitter account that it is the biggest hunt in history.

The resolution authorizes the Intelligence Committee to make its hearings public and prepare a report for the Judiciary Committee to decide whether to write articles for a political trial against Trump, which would take place in the Senate, where Republicans have a narrow majority.
