Donald Trump Lamented The Death Of Kobe Bryant: "It's Terrible News"

“Reports indicate that the great basketball player Kobe Bryant and three other people died in a helicopter crash in California. That is terrible news! ”, The president of the United States wrote on his Twitter account.

In the same social network the former US president, Barack Obama, expressed: “Kobe was a legend on the court and was just beginning in what would have been such a significant second act. Losing Gianna is even more heartbreaking for us as parents. Michelle and I sent love and prayers to Vanessa and the entire Bryant family on an unthinkable day. ”

The NBA star was traveling with four other people in his private Sikorsky S-76 helicopter when he collapsed over the city of Calabasas, located in Los Angeles County, California. After the accident, a fire occurred. There were no survivors.

The flight departed from Orange County and had to get to El Monte, the Mamba (Black Mmba was his nickname) Academy, to observe a training, but on the way he suffered the accident.

The American TMZ site confirmed that his wife Vanessa was not on the plane, but Gianna, the oldest daughter, aged 13, was traveling. The couple had four children: the aforementioned Gianna, Natalia and Bianca and the newborn Capri (in June 2019).

Bryant developed his entire career at Los Angeles Lakers, a team that is the greatest historical idol. They were, in total, 20 seasons and his great performance made him a legend of the sport. For many he has been the great heir of Michael Jordan.

With the Lakers he won five NBA titles, in the seasons 1999-2000, 2000-2001, 2001-2002, 2008-2009 and 2009-2010, while with the United States team he won the gold medal twice ( Beijing Olympic Games 2008 and London 2012).

In addition, MVP (best player) was chosen twice from the NBA finals (2009 and 2010). He received the prize for the most valuable player in the league in 2008 and participated in 18 editions of the All-Star Game, being awarded in four of them as the best player.

Shock in the world of sports

The death of Kobe Bryant caused deep sadness and unease in international sport. Dozens of basketball players and different sports teams sent their condolences.

One of those who was proclaimed by the disturbing news was Emanuel Ginobili, who faced Bryant several times in his seasons in the NBA. “Devastated,” he managed to write the Argentine on his Twitter account.

So did Luis Scola, shortly after confirming the tragic news: "I can't believe it … I feel as bad as if someone in my family had died … What a fucking day …".

Among the most resonant personalities of the international environment, one of those who fired Black Mamba was Tony Parker, former Spurs player and Bryant rival in the NBA. “I am disconsolate by this news, you were a true legend and friend. Rest in peace Kobe, my thoughts and prayers to his wife and children, ”wrote the French in his social networks.

The Spaniard Pau Gasol also said “devastated” by the news: “My big brother… I can't believe it”.

The Paris Saint-Germain football club sent its "condolences" to family and friends of the NBA legend.
