Miam – Former President Donald Trump affirmed this Friday that the border with Mexico “is totally out of control thanks to the disastrous leadership” of the current president, Joe biden, and urged him to put an end to what he defined as a “border nightmare.”
“There has never been a moment on our southern border like the one that is happening now, but what is more important is what is about to happen: (…) illegal immigrants from all corners of the Earth will descend on us. border and will never be returned, “said Trump in a statement from his office, based in Palm Beach, where he has resided since last January.
The former president drew an apocalyptic panorama in what is his most aggressive message against the administration of the Democrat Biden since he replaced him in the White House, and poured praise towards the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, whom he described as “wonderful ”.RELATED
“Our great Border Patrol and ICE (Immigration Service) agents have been disrespected, degraded and mocked by the Biden Administration,” he said.
According to the former president, who during his presidency applied a policy of “zero tolerance” to “illegal” immigration and made progress in the construction of a separation wall with Mexico, “every hour there is a massive incursion into the country by people who They shouldn’t be here, which is getting worse by the minute ”.
“Many have criminal records and many others have and are spreading COVID-19,” he added.
According to his negative account, the criminals who were once expelled from the country by his administration are now back on the streets to “commit heinous and violent crimes.”
A tsunami on the border
“ICE officers are desperate to get these convicted criminals out, but Biden won’t let them,” he added.
Trump stressed that the “tsunami” at the border is overwhelming local communities, depleting budgets, crowding hospitals and taking jobs from American workers.
“When I left office (in January), we had achieved the safest border in the history of our country. Under Biden, it will soon be worse, more dangerous and more out of control than ever, ”he said.
In recent months there has been an increase in cases of illegal border crossing by undocumented persons and last January, when Biden came to power, there was the tenth consecutive month of increases, when they stopped or considered inadmissible to enter the country to 78,323 people, more than double that of the same month of 2020 (36,585).
And local authorities in the border area with Mexico are anticipating that the arrival of immigrants in recent weeks continues to increase, a situation that has forced the Biden government to reopen detention centers for immigrants.
Trump accused Biden of having violated his oath to defend the Constitution and enforce the laws with the measures he has taken on immigration, in accordance with his electoral promises to make it possible to legalize the undocumented and return to the laws that protected applicants for asylum.
“You can never have a secure border unless people who cross illegally are immediately expelled,” said the Republican.
The former president said he had forged “a great relationship” with the López Obrador government, but regretted that its results have faded “due to the great incompetence and radicalism of the people who are currently in charge.”
The program known as the Migrant Protection Protocol (MPP), which forced about 70,000 people to wait in Mexico for the result of their asylum applications, was “incredible” for Trump, “but Biden immediately abandoned it, probably because it worked. very good”.
In a staunch defense of his immigration policy, including his controversial wall, Trump regretted that Biden also ended the security agreements with Central America.
“Despite having been delayed by years of litigation and politics by the Democrats, the wall is almost finished (720 kilometers of the 3,200 kilometers that the US border has with Mexico were built during his term) and it is possible to complete quickly. Doing so will save thousands of lives, “said Trump, who ends his statement with a message to Biden.
“Keep China’s illegal immigration, crime and virus out of our country!” Proclaimed Trump, who has not yet revealed if he will be a candidate for the 2024 presidential elections, although the fundraising machinery for the campaign is already working.
After a few weeks of public silence held at his Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach and once acquitted of his second impeachment trial, in this case for the seizure of the Capitol by his followers, Trump returned to the public arena last Sunday with an intervention in a conservative photo in Orlando (Florida)
