The popularity of former US President Donald Trump has suffered in the months in which he has been out of the White House, in which his public appearances have been counted, according to a poll that places the proportion of citizens who they have a low opinion of the New York tycoon.

The study, released by the NBC News network, shows that only 32 percent of the people surveyed have a favorable opinion of Trump, eight points less than in January and eleven less than before the November elections, labeled as fraudulent without evidence by the ex-president.

The trend is reversed in the case of current White House tenant Joe Biden, who has the backing of 50 percent of those surveyed. Thirty-six percent have a negative image of the president, who is about to serve 100 days in the Oval Office – he took office on January 20.

The image of Trump is also blurred among supporters of the Republican Party, who no longer call themselves such ‘Trumpists’. Thus, 44 percent declare themselves more in favor of Trump than of the party, while 50 percent put the formation before the former president, something unprecedented since July 2019.

Trump, who has always considered himself above the party for which he ran in the elections, has toyed with the possibility of running again in the 2024 elections. “We will return in some way,” he declared just hours after leaving the White House, although since then it has not specified anything beyond veiled messages.
