The attack was awarded by the Revolutionary Guards of Iran, through Iranian state television, in Iraq. The Iranian government fired "more than a dozen" missiles at bases in Iraq used by US forces, the Pentagon confirmed. The operative was called “Mártir Soleimani,” added the Iranian television.
The aerospace division of the Revolutionary Guard, which controls Iran's missile program, launched the attack. Tehran said it will release more information later.
The Pentagon said there were at least 12 ballistic missiles launched from Iran.
