The president of the United States, Donald Trump, said Thursday, October 31, 2019 that the place where the trade agreement with China will be signed will be announced “soon”.
Initially, the US president and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping had planned to sign the pact during the APEC summit in mid-November in Chile, but the appointment was canceled Wednesday by the wave of protests in that country.
"China and the United States are working to choose a new place to sign phase 1 of the trade agreement, which corresponds to about 60% of the total, after APEC in Chile was canceled due to unrelated circumstances," Trump said on Twitter .

Trump added that both leaders will attend the ceremony.
The president of Chile, Sebastián Piñera, announced on Wednesday that his country will no longer host the summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit and that it will not be able to host the COP25 World Climate Conference, scheduled in Santiago, due to the violent protests unleashed in recent days in the country.
Beijing also remains optimistic about the preliminary agreement, which implies a breakdown of tensions between the two giants after a trade war that has cast a shadow over the global economy for 18 months.
