“They will not let you win,” he added, emphasizing the fractures within the Democratic party.

“This could go to the convention, this could really happen,” said the US president, implying that, even if Sanders got the most votes during the primaries, the party’s leadership could set him apart during the summer nomination convention of the candidate who He will face Trump in November.

The Democratic convention in July will elect, by vote, the rival of Donald Trump, if the candidates do not get a majority in the primaries.

At the moment, Bernie Sanders is leading the investiture primary, having obtained, on Saturday, about 47% of the votes in Nevada, according to provisional results, taking advantage of Joe Biden.

Billionaire Michael Bloomberg’s campaign team, another candidate for the Democratic investiture, declared that choosing Bernie Sanders would be “a fatal mistake.”

“We will need independents and Republicans to beat Trump,” he said.

This did not prevent Bernie Sanders from leading the national polls, with 29.3% in the intention of votes, according to an estimate from the RealClearPolitics page. (I)
