Donald Trump Says There Are "foreign Efforts" That Seek To Destabilize Chile

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, said that there are "foreign efforts to undermine institutions" in Chile, in response to the social outbreak that has developed for two weeks in the country.

According to Radio Bío Bío, according to the information provided by the White House, the US president called his Chilean couple to give his support after canceling the completion of the APEC Summit and COP25, where he also took advantage of denouncing possible foreign maneuvers that would be behind the 'national revolt'.

"Yesterday President Donald Trump called the president of Chile, Sebastián Piñera, to express his support after his decision to cancel the APEC and COP25 leaders summit," said White House spokesman Judd Deere.

The official added that the United States supports Chile, that it is an important ally in its work to "restore the national order" and that President Trump "denounced foreign efforts to undermine Chilean institutions, democracy and society."

On the cancellation of APEC in Chile, an instance where it was planned to sign the trade agreement between China and the United States, Trump said the new place for that instance will be announced "soon."
