The immigration policy of the L贸pez Obrador Government, as he says, is not the same as that of previous governments. In the past, the Mexican government sustained the foreign policy of accepting migrants seeking asylum, did not impede the transit of those who wanted to reach the United States, protected those fleeing for political reasons and others, which gave him fame as generous country, among various Latin American countries, but also in Europe.

In his first days of government, President L贸pez Obrador, endorsed that his policy towards migrants would be solidarity, which was manifested in the hospital treatment that received caravans of migrants arrived in Mexico in the first months of 2019 and traveled to the northern border to request political asylum from the United States government.

The number of migrants grew and overflowed the attention capacity of the institutions of Mexico and the United States, which created a conflict in that country and put into crisis the immigration policy of President Donald Trump who, for years, has insisted with stop migrants building a wall and ensuring that Mexico will pay for it.
