A US Army dog that became a symbol of the success of the operation against the leader of the Islamic State jihadist group, Abu Bakr al Baghdadi, will be received at the White House next week, President Donald Trump announced Thursday.
The Republican president posted an image of the dog on Twitter and praised the work of the dog during the operation on Saturday night in which the leader of the jihadist group died in Syria.RELATED
General Mark Milley explained that the animal was "slightly injured" in the operation and declined to reveal the dog's identity for security reasons.
In the early hours of Thursday, Trump said that the dog will be received at the White House and confirmed the press reports that claimed his name is Conan.
"Conan will leave the Middle East to visit the White House over the next week," said the 45th president of the United States on Twitter, who is the only president in the recent history of his country that does not have a dog.
Thank you Daily Wire. Very cute recreation, but the “live” version of Conan will be leaving the Middle East for the White House sometime next week! https://t.co/Z1UfhxsSpT
