Donald Trump’s Doctor Assures That The President Has Been Without Symptoms Of COVID-19 For More Than 24 Hours

Washington – The President of the United States, Donald Trump, is “great”, he has been without symptoms of COVID-19 for more than 24 hours and his blood test taken on Monday has shown “detectable levels” of neutralizing antibodies of the IgG type, reported this Wednesday his doctor at the White House, Sean Conley.

In a statement, Trump’s doctor said that, this Wednesday morning, the president exclaimed: “I feel great!”

“His physical exam and vital signs, including oxygen saturation (in blood) and breathing rate, are all stable and in the normal range. She has been fever-free for four days, symptom-free for more than 24 hours, and has not needed or received supplemental oxygen since her initial hospitalization, ”Conley said.

The doctor added that tests of the president’s blood, taken on Monday, “showed detectable levels of IgG antibodies to SARS-CoV-2,” while another sample that was performed last Thursday, when it tested positive, did not detect them.

Antibodies of this type usually develop between one and three weeks after infection with COVID-19, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Conley’s assertion that Trump already had detectable levels of them this Monday, just four days after the White House assured that he was diagnosed with the disease – last Thursday night -, generated stupor among some medical professionals and analysts as soon as the medical report is published.

Additionally, the Conley document omitted specific information about Trump’s blood oxygen level or blood pressure, and did not clarify whether the president is still receiving any type of medication, including the steroid dexamethasone that he began taking over the weekend.

Trump is among the first known COVID-19 patients to have been given a combination of potent treatments such as the Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Experimental Antibody Cocktail he received on Friday; dexamethasone and Remdesivir, an antiviral that was given to him between Saturday and Tuesday.

The president has experienced at least two oxygen drops since testing positive for the disease, but on Monday, arriving at the White House from the military hospital where he was admitted, he asked Americans not to “fear” the disease or let it “Dominate” their lives.

However, Trump is not yet outside the period in which, according to the medical consensus, COVID-19 patients are most vulnerable; a period that lasts between seven and ten days after the first symptoms are registered, something that in the case of the president supposedly happened last Thursday.
