Federal Supreme Court Decides Which Women Must Obtain The Pill To Abort In Person

Washington – The U.S. Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that women must go in person to a doctor’s office, hospital or clinic to obtain a pregnancy-terminating pill during the COVID-19 pandemic, even though they have been Similar standards for other medications suspended during the public health emergency.

Eight days before President Donald Trump ends his term, the magistrates granted an appeal to his government to enforce an age-old rule around obtaining the abortion pill, mifepristone. The pill does not need to be taken in the presence of medical professionals.

The incoming government could suspend that requirement during the public health emergency once Joe Biden takes office on January 20.


The court’s decision was by six votes in favor and three against. Liberal judges disagreed with the measure.
