Forever 21 Could Close a Store In Puerto Rico

After the bankruptcy of the chain Forever 21, The company plans to close a third of the stores it has in the United States and one of them could be the Plaza Del Caribe in Ponce, according to a list submitted by the corporation to the Bankruptcy Court.

The company, according to CNCB reports, does not expect to have to close the 178 stores it included in the list, as it is still in negotiations with the owners and administrators of shopping centers to try to renegotiate lower rental contracts.

However, if it fails to improve the negotiation of contracts, they could close them. These stores that appear on the list are apparently the least productive in the chain.

Lorraine Vissepó, Director of Communications of Empresas Fonalledas, said the US company has not communicated to inform them of the decision. "Not yet. We read it in the press, that is the only information we have, ”said Vissepó.

Forever 21 arrived on the island in 2009 and also has a store in Plaza Las Américas, as well as in Plaza Carolina, Las Catalinas Mall in Caguas and in Premium Outlets in Barceloneta.
