The sale of Fox Sports Mexico is about to take place and at the start, on the Disney table, current owner of the chain, there are two offers, operations that would already be approved by the Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT).

One of the proposals comes from Rupert Murdoch, owner of FOX until a year ago, in a virtual ‘buy-back’ that would have the participation of the MX League clubs of which they already have the transmission rights, such as Santos, Atlas, Pachuca, León, Rayados, Xolos and Querétaro, who would now serve as investors, but not as partners.

The other alternative is that of AT&T, a telecommunications consortium that is also interested in taking over all of the company’s assets, and would also have the support of the teams, who would sign long-term contracts with the new owners for transmission rights. .

In any case, the operation must be completed before April 30, the date on which the extension granted by the IFT to The Walt Disney Company concludes to detach from the three Fox Sports channels in Mexico, an essential requirement to guarantee the purchase of FOX , crystallized last year.

If the negotiation does not materialize before that date, Fox Sports Mexico would go into liquidation of all its assets, including transmission rights, although Mediotiempo could know that the buyer will be chosen in mid-March.
