Cardiff, Wales (AP) —Ryan Giggs offered to resign as manager of the Wales national team on Monday. Since 1958.

The legendary former Manchester United player has been absent since November 2020, and his assistant Robert Page has been tasked with winning the playoffs a few weeks ago and leading Wales to the Qatar World Cup. rice field.

Giggs pleaded not guilty to the indictment. The delinquency in proceedings in Manchester’s court delayed the start of the trial.

“I trust our judicial process, but I wanted the case to be heard sooner so that I could resume my responsibilities as a technical director.” Anyone blamed the case for being delayed. There is none.

“We do not want the continued interest in this case to affect, destabilize or endanger our preparations for the World Cup.”

Giggs played the most in Manchester United’s history, playing 963 games by the time he retired in 2014. He also participated in the Welsh team 64 times before he was hired as a national manager in January 2018.

Giggs has certified the latest version of Wales in the euro, which was postponed for 12 months in 2021 due to a pandemic. Page was in charge of the selection during the tournament.

“I was fortunate enough to enjoy an unforgettable moment for three years with the national team,” Giggs said. “I’m proud of my records and always cherish those special moments.”

“It’s sad that we can’t continue this story together because we believe this extraordinary group is proud of the country in the first World Cup since 1958,” he added.

Giggs said he intends to resume his coaching career “later”.

“And I can’t wait to see our national team with you on the stand,” he emphasized.

The Football Association of Wales thanked Giggs and said, “I am grateful for his decision in the greatest interests of football in Wales.”
