Google Contributes 3 Million To Combat Misinformation About Vaccines Against COVID-19 | Voice Of America

The Google News Initiative on Tuesday launched a global fund to combat misinformation about COVID-19 vaccines, worth up to $ 3 million. The “Open Fund Against Disinformation on COVID-19 Vaccines” seeks to support journalistic efforts to effectively check for disinformation about the immunization process against COVID-19, the Fund said in a blog post. “While the pandemic of disinformation on COVID-19 has been global in nature, disinformation has also been used to target specific populations,” he added. In December, Google’s News Initiative pledged $ 1.5 million to fund a media research center to verify the accuracy of information related to COVID-19.
