The Puerto Rican Jasmine Camacho-Quinn won this Thursday afternoon the 100-meter hurdles race of the Diamond League event held in Italy.
He timed 12:38. That is her second best mark of the year for the season leader with a 12:32.
The 12:38 is a brand new for the event in Italy called the Golden Gala Pietro Mennea. The previous mark was 12:39 set in 1980 by Russian Vera Komisova.
In the second competition run in which Camacho-Quinn wins the 100 meter hurdles with a new mark for the event.
Qualified for the Tokyo Games, Camacho-Quinn is one of Puerto Rico’s top medal promises at the Olympics.
The Diamond League will have a full competition program by 2021
His next competition would be this weekend in Carolina, where he would come to race in the Puerto Rico National Championship. Camacho-Quinn would compete in the 4×400 meter relay.
The semifinalist at the 2016 Rio Games now has 12 100-meter hurdles races in 2021. She has won 11 of the 12.
Among the world champions, Camacho-Quinn is ranked 12th in the World Athletics ranking, which was updated this Wednesday. Camacho-Quinn was, however, the best runner in that event in 2021.
Camacho-Quinn was followed by Bahamian Devynne Charlton with 12:80 and Belarusian Elvira Herman with 12:85.
