Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán’s Wife Pleads Guilty To Drug Trafficking

New York – Emma Coronel Aispuro, wife of Mexican drug lord Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, pleaded guilty to federal criminal charges Thursday after being accused in the United States of helping her husband run a multi-million dollar drug trafficking empire.

In a hearing of more th an an hour in the city of Washington, which was also broadcast by telephone, Aispuro pleaded guilty to three crimes: conspiracy to traffic cocaine, methamphetamines, heroin and marijuana; money laundering and participation in property transactions belonging to a drug trafficker.
