Lakers Return To Training, Still Mourning Kobe Bryant

THE SECOND, California, USA. (AP) – The Los Angeles Lakers returned to training on Wednesday, still mourned by Kobe Bryant.

The team held a short shooting practice, which marked the resumption of sports activities after the death of Bryant, his daughter Gianna and seven others people in a helicopter crash on Sunday.

Tuesday’s game between the Lakers and the Clippers was postponed. Instead, players and coaches gathered that afternoon to share stories and remember Bryant, who played 20 years of his NBA career with the Lakers.

Coach Frank Vogel, who came to the franchise eight months ago, was the Only person who spoke with the media in Wednesday’s practice. Vogel said the Lakers “are deeply sad about the tragedy.” Vogel added that the team “wants to represent everything Kobe was, more than anything.”

The Lakers have the best Western Conference mark, 36-10. Their next game is Friday, when they host the Portland Trail Blazers.
