Man Asks The Police To Imprison Him With His Girlfriend

Kentucky authorities arrested a man who wanted to go to jail to support his girlfriend, who is in prison.

Raymond Pace, 47, was charged with crimes that include possession of methamphetamine, heroin and drug paraphernalia, local press reported Tuesday.

The individual called authorities on Saturday to report the theft of a laptop, Garrard County police said. Officer Steven Debord found Pace intoxicated and asking to be jailed to support his girlfriend, who is serving five months in jail.

Pace explained to the officer that they had to imprison him so that his girlfriend wouldn't get stressed, and insisted several times even pushing the police, but the agent refused, until the suspect took out a package of paraphernalia to use drugs, police said.

For now it is unknown if Pace could already see his girlfriend or if he has a lawyer who talks about his judicial situation. The authorities did not say what the woman's name was.
