Paraguayan President Mario Abdo Benítez will be received by his American pair Donald Trump in Washington to address important issues on the bilateral agenda, according to the Presidency website.
This announcement comes after the last visits to the country by both the US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, and Trump's daughter and advisor, Ivanka, who had registered in April and last September, respectively.

The visit of both referents of the US Government to Paraguay was considered an important diplomatic wink after the political crisis that supported the administration of Mario Abdo Benítez, who was on the verge of political trial.
Abdo Benítez, during the stay of Ivanka Trump, boasted of the friendship between the two countries.
"We were talking about the importance of 'friends' in the world being supportive and having more interaction, cooperation, and strengthening the links we always had between the US and Paraguay," said the head of state on his dialogue with the daughter of the American president

For his part, the US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, stressed at the time that Paraguay took concrete steps, but that efforts should be redoubled to concretize the fight against money laundering and transnational crime.
During a meeting of the United Nations, in September 2018, in New York, both leaders had already met in a protocol greeting.
