Minimum Wage In The Largest Increases To $ 8,500

SCOTTSDALE, Arizona, USA. (AP) – The majors increased the minimum wage to $ 563,500, an increase of $ 8,500 compared to last year.

According to the collective agreement signed by the Major Leagues with the baseball players' union, the minimum payment went from $ 535,000 in 2017 to 545,000 in 2018 and 555,000 this year. In the last two seasons of the five-year contract, the figure is calculated based on the increase in the Consumer Price Index for urban wage earners and clerical workers, from October 2018 to the same month of this year.

The October figures were announced Wednesday by the US government's labor statistics department.
