Morant And Memphis Win Tight Game Over Warriors And Curry

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) – Ja Morant converted a layup 57.9 seconds from the end and shone again on Stephen Curry’s court with 30 points, and the Memphis Grizzlies added another thrilling overtime victory Thursday by overcoming 104-101 to the Golden State Warriors.

Curry scored 36 points, but missed two key triples in the final stretch of the reissue of the play-in game that faced the two teams on May 21 and in which Memphis won 117-112 in overtime at Chase Center.


Curry missed a shot of three at the end of regulation time that left the scoreboard tied at 98-98, and another with 1:18 of the buzzer to finish with 7 of 20 on long shots in the first loss of the Warriors after a start of 4-0.

Desmond Bane scored 19 points for the Grizzlies, who snapped a two-game losing streak in the last of their four games on the West Coast.

Damion Lee contributed 14 for the Golden State account off the bench, while Mexican Juan Toscano-Anderson had four points and three assists.

A triple by Jaren Jackson Jr. brought the Grizzlies to 86-84 at 7:45 left in the fourth period, and they took advantage of a turnover from Andre Iguodala to score on a De’Anthony Melton basket. This play kicked off an intense round-trip finale reminiscent of the thrilling game five months ago.
