One person was killed and 17 were injured when a shooting broke out at a party in Cleveland on Saturday night attended by motorcycle gangs, authorities said.
A 48-year-old man was found shot dead when the police went to the premises in East Cleveland at about 11:30 p.m. Several injured people left in private vehicles and went to local hospitals.
At the party there were “multiple motorcycle gangs,” the public force said. A fight broke out and some people were expelled from the scene but returned and shot at other individuals, who returned the fire.RELATED
In total 18 people, including men and women, were shot and received treatment in hospitals in the area, authorities said. Some injuries are minor and others serious, police said, but did not give details of the victims or the seriousness of their injuries.
There were “multiple responsible” for the shooting, officials said, and the case is still under investigation.
