Pivetta Cuts The Losing Streak.Red Sox Defeated Rangers

Nick Pivetta won the season’s longest seven innings with one run and three hits for the first time since August, while the Boston Red Sox beat the Texas Rangers 7-1 on Friday.

Boston scored four in six. JD Martinez started his decisive drive with a line drive to the left fielder who bounced off at Brad Miller’s feet.

With that hit, Martinez extended his hit streak to 14 games and the on-base streak to 29. This dates back to September. These are the two longest active streaks of this kind in Major League Baseball.


Pivetta (1-4) snapped a losing streak in seven games over his last 13 starts. He hasn’t won since August 13, 2021 when he defeated Baltimore.

He prescribed four strikeouts and walked one. When Kole Calhoun tripled to the center fielder and scored in a wild pitch, his shutout attempt ended in seven.

The Red Sox sank to the final position in the American League East, winning two out of three games after five defeats, the worst streak of the season.

Dane Dunning (1-2) gave up one run in two singles in six. He was to leave with two outs after allowing five runs and six hits, six strikeouts, two walks and a wild pitch.

In the case of the Red Sox, Puerto Rico’s Kike Hernandez scored 2-1 and Christian Vazquez scored 4-1. Dominican Rafael Devers 5-1 scored and RBI, Franchy Cordero 4-1 scored and RBI. Mexico’s Alex Verdugo 3-1 with one goal and another produced.

For the Rangers, Cuba’s Adolis Garcia is 4-0 and Andy Ibanez is 3-0.
