POLICIES ON THE NETWORKS – Twitter Announces That It Will Stop Accepting Political Advertising Worldwide

Twitter announced on Wednesday that it will stop accepting political advertising on its global platform, in response to growing criticism of misinformation by politicians on social networks.

Executive director Jack Dorsey said in a tweet that the company made the decision to avoid potential problems derived from automatic messaging, deep learning, misleading information and deepfakes – artificial intelligence technique that allows you to edit fake videos of people who are apparently real.

The announcement comes at a time when Facebook is under pressure to verify the ads of politicians on its platform.
