Washington – The White House took new steps to protect President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence from the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Starting Friday, anyone who is expected to be in “close proximity” to Trump or the vice president will receive a rapid test “to assess presymptomatic or asymptomatic carrier status in order to limit inadvertent transmission,” spokesman Judd Deere said.
Until now, the temperature was taken for all those who entered the presidential mansion and if they planned to contact Trump or Pence.
RELATEDTrump underwent the test Thursday and the results were known in 15 minutes. Negative, said the White House doctor.
