Puerto Rico Wins The Miss Earth 2019 Contest

Manil – Puerto Rican Nellys Pimentel was crowned today Miss Earth 2019 in a gala held in Manila in which the Belarusian Alisa Manenok, the Czech Klara Vavruskova and the American Emanii Davis also stood out.

Pimentel, born in 1997 in San Juan and graduated in psychology, wore a long silver suit when she was proclaimed queen of the contest, in which she advocated education to combat the ignorance of those who deny the climate crisis.

The American candidate was elected Miss Aire, while the title of Miss Water fell to the Czech and Miss Fire in the Belarusian Alisa Manenok.

Pimentel receives the crown of the Vietnamese Nguyen Phuong Khanh, which was crowned as Miss Earth 2018 in a gala in which the Austrian Melanie Mader, as Miss Aire, the Colombian Valeria Ayos, as Miss Agua, and the Mexican Melissa Flores were also awarded , like Miss Fire.

Miss Tierra, one of the four beauty contests with the greatest impact in the world, was created in 2001 by the Philippine company Carousel to raise awareness about the ecology and effects of climate change.
