Sancho Joins Man United For 100 Million

MANCHESTER, England (AP) – Jadon Sancho will join Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund for 85 million euros ($ 100 million), the clubs confirmed Thursday.

The winger must formalize his contract and undergo rigorous medical tests with United when he concludes his participation in the European Championship with the England team.

Sancho, 21, has not started a single encounter with the England team in the tournament, which is reaching the quarter-final stage.

The player began his career in the Manchester City youth teams but turned down a deal to stay and joined Dortmund in 2017. He has scored 50 times in his 137 appearances since moving to Germany.

Now, he is heading to the staunch rival of City. He will try to help United dethrone their city adversary as Premier League champions.

United’s new season begins on August 14 against Leeds.

Sancho became the second most expensive English player in history, after Harry Maguire, hired two years ago by United, who paid 80 million pounds ($ 97 million) for his departure from Leicester.
