RENTON – The Seattle Seahawks meet with another defensive lineman, agreeing terms with wing Benson Mayowa, as confirmed by the player’s agent, David Canter.
NFL Network reported that this is a one-season deal.
Mayowa is the second quarterback specialist to return to the Seahawks for a second chance. Seattle agreed with former first-round pick Bruce Irvin in the early days of free agency.
RELATEDMayowa didn’t get much of a chance in his solo season with the Seahawks in 2013, appearing in just two regular-season games. Over the past four seasons, he has grown into a solid stunt specialist, Mayowa scored six sacks in 13 games with the Dallas Cowboys in 2016. And in 2018 for the Arizona Cardinals, Mayowa scored four sacks along with a personal mark of 38 tackles.
Last year with the Oakland Raiders, Mayowa had a personal record of seven sacks and three forced fumbles.
Mayowa, who turned 29 in August, was an undrafted free agent from Idaho when he entered the league with the Seahawks.
