The Foreign and Defense ministries are evacuating Afghan collaborators in a joint operation, as published this Saturday by the SER string.
In this second phase of evacuation, which has begun in Pakistan and will be carried out across the land border, the Government will remove from Afghanistan all those who have collaborated with the Spanish military and diplomats.
RELATEDMinister José Manuel Albares assured last September that the objective of the Government of Spain was “to leave no one behind” in Afghanistan. “We are not going to leave any of our Afghan collaborators, neither of the Spanish cooperation, behind,” he explained then.
The Defense Ministry has explained to Cadena SER that the evacuation will be carried out by land, although it has preferred not to comment further “for security reasons.”
