The 10 Most Valuable Startups In The World

In this list, which collects the valuations (at the first half of the year) of the 494 startups that were founded in the 2000s and exceed the figure of 1,000 million dollars, the second position is occupied by the ByteDance content platform that worth 75,000 million dollars.

Third place goes to Didi Chuxing, the Chinese transport application worth 55 billion dollars.

According to Rupert Hoogewerf, president and head of research for the Hurun report, the ranking is designed to inspire entrepreneurs and, above all, encourage investors to finance technology projects.


“These young companies are the new companies in the world, they are the leaders of a technological generation that is going to transform industries, so it is important that a global environment be created that allows unicorns to flourish,” says Hoogewerf.

Following is the list of the 10 most valuable startups in the world, representing 31% of the total valuation of the 494 unicorns that were analyzed in the study:

1. Ant Financial

The Chinese mobile payment unicorn founded in 2014, which was formerly known as Aliplay, raised $ 14 billion in its last round of investment. This transaction, rated as the largest fundraiser of a private company, allowed it to be valued at $ 150 billion.

2. ByteDance

The China-based content firm, which is valued at $ 75 billion, owns the Tik Tok video exchange application and the news aggregation platform with artificial intelligence technology Jinri Toutiao.
