The three-time Super Bowl champion, Julian Edelman, has decided to retire from the NFL, the famous receiver announced through his social networks.
The 35-year-old Edelman came to the NFL as a seventh-round pick in the 2009 NFL Draft after playing quarterback at Kent State.

In 12 seasons with the New England Patriots, Edelman had 620 receptions for 6,822 yards and 36 touchdowns. In addition, he ran the ball 58 times for 413 yards and completed all six passes he attempted in the NFL, including a touchdown in 2019. Edelman ranks second in NFL history with 118 postseason receptions, behind only 151. by Jerry Rice. He was named Most Valuable Player of Super Bowl LIII.
The most memorable play in Edelman’s career with New England occurred during a Super Bowl LI comeback win over the Atlanta Falcons. With less than three minutes to go, Tom Brady connected with Edelman on a 23-yard drive down the middle of the field that was first deflected by a defender. Between three Falcons players, Edelman juggled the ball before finally catching it millimeters off the ground. The pass was reviewed and it was confirmed that the ball did not touch the ground, leaving it as a complete pass. The catch helped the Pats tie the game at 28 points, eventually winning in overtime, after trailing 28-3 by one point.
Edelman also became known for his social media activity, particularly the posts he made alongside former New England teammates Danny Amendola, Rob Gronkowski and Brady.
