The Regularization Committee Begins Its Functions: “The Priority Is To Reactivate Soccer In El Salvador”

In the early hours of the morning, the Regularization Committee appointed by FIFA last Saturday was present at the facilities of the Salvadoran Football Federation (FESFUT) accompanied by Sofía Malizia from FIFA and Marco Leal from CONCACAF to begin their functions that will last 12 months. .

Humberto Sáenz, president of the Committee, accompanied by Fernando Argüello and HenRy Orellana, members of the Committee, had their first approach with the press, to which Saénz asked for patience because they continue to soak up all the issues of the federation.

“We ask for your patience. A few hours ago we began to find out everything and we need to finish understanding the problem, ”she commented.

For her part, Sofía Malizia mentioned the main tasks of the Regularization Committee. “The functions of this Committee will be among other things: Thoroughly review the Statutes and that they comply with the FIFA and CONCACAF statutes.”

CONCACAF’s Marco Leal was clear in saying that the Committee’s two urgent things are the reactivation of soccer and the payment of employees.

“The priority of this Committee is to reactivate soccer in El Salvador at all levels. It is a priority for all the people who have continued to work. Along with the reactivation of football, the two urgent things ”, he limited.

Malizia commented that the interference of the state led FIFA to make a decision and reminded the normalizing commission that the Sports Disciplinary, Ethics and Appeals Court ordered INDES to impose.

“Unfortunately recently actions taken by third parties have forced FIFA to take action. One of those actions was the installation of a normalizing commission by a third party,” he mentioned.

Leal said that they are open to dialogue with the government as they have done before, always seeking the benefit of soccer.

“We sit down many times with the government and we remain open to always sitting down watching over football,” he concluded.
