There are still many questions to answer, but here we detail the events that have occurred since the disappearance of Gabrielle “Gabby” Petito, 22, who was traveling through different natural parks in the United States with her boyfriend, Brian Laundrie.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) confirmed Tuesday that the body they found over the weekend in Wyoming belonged to the young woman and that her death was a homicide. The whereabouts of her partner are still unknown.

Petito’s family reports her missing, after losing communication with her since the end of August. They indicated that she was touring national parks in the western United States with her boyfriend, who returned to his parents’ house on September 1 with the young woman’s van and without giving details of her whereabouts.

September 15

Police identify Laundrie as a person of interest in the case. Two days later, his parents indicate that they have not known his whereabouts since September 14.

16 of September

Authorities released a video showing a police intervention with the couple on August 12, while they were having a heated argument, near the entrance to Arches National Park, in Utah.

September 18

Police begin a search for Laundrie on the Carlton Reservation in Florida, where her parents alleged she might be.

September 19th

Authorities find a body in a camping area near Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. The remains are transferred to Forensic.

September 20

Agents raid the residence of Laundrie’s parents while continuing their search for the young man who to date has not cooperated with authorities.

September 21st

They confirm that the body found near Grand Teton National Park is that of Gabby Petito. His death was determined to be a homicide.
